Augmentative and Alternative Communication Retrospective

Dates: May 10 - June 1
Location: Kiewit Luminarium

With our partners from the Munroe-Meyer Institute and Kiewit Luminarium, we explore the history and importance of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Used by over 2 million people, AAC can be used to either compensate or supplement speech through both high-tech and low-tech modalities. From early 1920s letter boards, to the first portable device – the Auto Monitoring Communication Board, to today’s more common high-tech devices. The AAC Retrospective will be open at the Kiewit Luminarium on May 10th.
